A sweet romance amid a harsh future world.
In a world were fertility is commoditized, Andromache must hide the secret of her infertility. But when she is chosen as one of the potential brides of the next Elector, it seems impossible that she will be able to hide for much longer. However, she soon discovers that the capital city is full of far more secrets than her own.
L. E. Richmond's novel is sharp and powerful. She addresses tough themes in a wonderful, God-honouring way. This may be a heavy read for some (check the discern section below), but I enjoyed it deeply. It swept me up from the first chapter and didn't let me go.
Best for: Female romance readers
Discern: prostitution, abortion, discussions on infertility, romantic abuse, physical abuse, human experimentation, passionate kissing
